Activity summary

My research areas focus on: i) identifying ecophysiological processes and patterns affecting plant stress biology (drought/desiccation and oxidative stress); ii) studying the use of biological soil crusts (biocrusts) in ecological restoration; iii) researching biocrust green roof sustainability. Currently, I am the project leader of MedMossRoofs, which aims to study the application of moss-dominated biocrusts in green roofs with no requirements for irrigation.
