Tiago Simões holds a joint PhD in Biosciences, granted by the Vrije University from Amsterdam and the University of Coimbra. Now he is a researcher at the Polytechnic of Leiria focusing his research on the study of anthropogenic stressors, using sub-cellular tools to link early effects of polluting chemicals through time and consecutive levels of biological organization.
