Sonia KM Gueroun completed her PhD degree at Carthage University (Tunisia), where she studied jellyfish diversity, ecology, and impact on SW Mediterranean Sea trophic web. 2018 - 2021: she joined the GoJelly project (H2020) pursuing her research on jellyfish ecology and investigated the potential of these organisms for the aquaculture ground. Currently, she is studying zooplankton's role in the Madeira Island marine ecosystem and their interactions with microplastic for the HOTMIC project.
