The new Diretor of MARE vists MARE-Madeira

The new Director of MARE, Pedro Raposo de Almeida, started visiting the first regional research unit of MARE. It started with Madeira. He began the visit at Marina Quinta do Lorde, where the laboratory is located. The next day he chaired a meeting with all the researchers and workers at the regional research unit. The Deputy Director of MARE, João Canning-Clode, made a first presentation of the regional research unit, the Director clarified his vision for the coming years of MARE in an evolving talk where the researchers made several questions.

In the afternoon, he participated in the inauguration of the new Operational Center of the Madeira's Oceanic Observatory, with MARE being one of the founding members of this scientific infrastructure. The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, the Secretary of State for the Sea, José Maria Costa, and military and civil entities were present. He met stakeholders from Madeira. These were productive days that demonstrated the capabilities and dynamics of the Madeira hub. MARE Madeira has a dynamic, cohesive team, ready to keep on working.
