III Tagus Estuary Biodiversity Forum

MARE invites you to the II Tagus Estuary Biodiversity Forum, which will take place on December 2, at 2:30 p.m., at the Infantado Palace, in Samora Correia.

The main objective of this event is to highlight the importance of the ecosystems associated with the Tagus Estuary wetlands, the largest wetland area in the country and one of the most significant in Europe. The biodiversity found in this ecosystem not only plays a crucial role in environmental preservation, but also brings a wide range of benefits to local populations and society in general.

During the Forum, research and projects being developed in the region will be presented, focusing on ecosystem services, covering the areas of cultural, support, regulatory, and provisioning services. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, through various technical presentations, about the importance of assessing, valuing, and enhancing these services, which are essential for the sustainability and well-being of local communities.

MARE, as a partner entity, reiterates its commitment to promoting knowledge and sustainable management of coastal and estuarine ecosystems, contributing to the integration of science and society in building solutions for the preservation of biodiversity in the Tagus Estuary.

The event is free but registration is mandatory and can be done HERE
