Associativism, Community Participation and Sustainability

The Ocean Literacy Observatory (MARE-NOVA), together with Ebano Collective, co-constructed this training course, which addresses fundamental notions about the relationship between associativism, community participation and sustainability, as part of the AYE Project - Action-research for Youth in Europe (2023-1-FR01-KA220-HED-000160088), funded by the Erasmus+ program.

As a formative action, this course aims to deepen critical knowledge about the various forms of associativism in Portugal, starting from the concrete reality of local communities and their territorial contexts. The pedagogical practice promotes collaborative processes that cross science, citizenship and education, with a focus on ocean literacy as a tool for collective transformation.

The training invites young people and local agents to reflect together on the role of associativism in building more resilient, informed communities that are actively involved in defending their coastal territories.
