Ana Augusto holds a PhD in Food and Nutrition Sciences from the University of Reading (United Kingdom). She works in the field of food science, namely in the exploitation of marine food resources for the shelf-life extension of fresh and processed fruits. She is the author of scientific articles, a Portuguese national patent on edible coating for fresh-cut products; and a European patent - on edible film for frozen fish.
