Abstract:

The objectives of the funded project are to contribute to:

i. Stimulating the institutional organisational base of the national scientific and technological system in R&D units;

ii. Supporting the provision of basic shared resources for R&D activities and actions aimed at creating, strengthening or enhancing the conditions ensured by each R&D unit to better achieve its objectives;

iii. Complementing, in terms deemed appropriate, the funding obtained by R&D units for general activities and internationalisation reinforcement, in order to ensure institutional conditions that enable the best use of available resources, particularly to stimulate career development and stabilisation strategies;

iv. Contributing to additional exploitation costs of results from activities and projects already completed whose objectives have been successfully achieved.

Project funded by PRR European funds through the FCT:

Specifically, this funding will allow the acquisition of new equipment transversal to the activities of the various MARE regional research units, namely scientific equipment for swimming physiology laboratory tests in fish species, equipment for precise and efficient image analysis, "Micro Fourier Transformed Infra-Red Spectroscopy" spectrometer, Tox Rack, Zebrafish Lab and Box, flow cytometry system, and a mesocosm experimental room.
