On 20 November at 6 pm, MARE-University of Évora, is promoting a free screening of the film Ocean with David Attenborough – an impressive documentary that shows us the wonders and vitality of the ocean, its fragility and, above all, our ability to protect it. The film will be screened in the Main Auditorium of the University of Évora, preceded by a discussion with a panel of MARE researchers, encouraging reflection on our dependence on the ocean, the hidden destruction we cause it, and the actions that must be taken for the ocean to recover.
This film is David Attenborough's greatest message of hope – revealing more than 100 years of incredible discoveries about the ocean and the reasons why there is no place more important to all life on Earth than the ocean.
Co-produced by Silverback Films and Open Planet Studios, Ocean with David Attenborough reveals the wonders of underwater life and exposes the realities and challenges facing our ocean, now more than ever. From destructive fishing techniques to the massive bleaching of coral reefs.
Yet the message is one of optimism, with Attenborough telling inspiring stories from the four corners of the world to show us that the ocean can recover far beyond what our living generations can even remember.
This exhibition, promoted by MARE, is part of the programme for IIFA Day – Institute for Advanced Training, University of Évora, and Science and Technology Week.
Join MARE researchers and watch the free screening of Ocean with David Attenborough on 20 November at 6 pm in the Main Auditorium of the University of Évora.
