CREATION AND SCIENCE PHOTO COMPETITION

MARE is promoting the photography contest “CREATION AND SCIENCE CONTEST,” with the aim of raising awareness of the issue of “Marine Biological Invasion” through photography.

This contest aims to disseminate science and raise awareness of research in the area covered by MARE-Polytechnic of Leiria, with an emphasis on marine resources, blue economy, sustainability, and ocean literacy, some of the major focuses of the European Commission for the period 2021-2027. It is justified by the diversity of perspectives it can cover in all its aspects, while also promoting self-reflection on the theme.

The Contest Jury is composed of:
• Nuno Vasco Rodrigues (MARE researcher and photographer)
• Maria Jorge Campos (Coordinator of MARE-Polytechnic of Leiria)
• Pedro Raposo de Almeida (Director of MARE)
• Luísa Baeta (Professor at ESAD.CR – Polytechnic Institute of Leiria)

 

Each participant may submit only ONE photograph.

The competition will culminate in an exhibition of the three winning photographs at CETEMARES.

The deadline for submitting photographs is October 19, 2025.
