Activity summary

My research aims at reinforcing the scientific and economical potential of biomimetic-driven research in the portuguese and international panorama, by contributing to the development of new nature-inspired adhesives for biomedical applications. I have 19 years of experience in sea urchin adhesion using a multidisciplinary approach (morphology, biomechanics, biochemistry, proteomics, mass spectrometry, transcriptomics and molecular biology) towards the development of sea urchin inspired adhesives
