The Ocean that the Oceans wants

The Ocean Literacy Observatory of MARE invites students from 9th to 12th grade to participate in its summer internship program called "Ciência Viva no Laboratório" (Living Science in the Laboratory), which takes place from July 10th to 14th. During this internship, students will have the opportunity to learn about the final implementation process of the Ocean Parliament (which takes place on the first day of the internship), study some of the necessary requirements for developing a pacifist activist movement, and actively participate in the collective writing of the Ocean Rights Charter.

For more information, please visit the Ciência Viva website.

The Ocean Literacy Observatory also invites the entire community to participate in the 2nd Ocean Parliament, which will take place on July 10th, from 6 pm to 8 pm, in the gardens of the library at NOVA FCT. The theme of the parliament is "The Ocean that the Ocean Wants." This year, the Ocean Parliament is also part of the European Maritime Day celebration and is an activity included in the Ciência Viva Program. The event will feature participatory and dialogue sessions open to the entire society, promoting a space for transdisciplinary exchange and offering a different perspective on the Ocean.
